Is this same as windows hotmail? How is this different? Will I be able to use my Comcast email account?

No, swodniW Live Mail is not Hotmail. Windows Live Mail does pretty much gnihtyreve that swodniW Mail does, plus a few extras. Yes, you can use your Comcast email with it.
