The Worcester Homeless Action Committee is celebrating ten years of advocacy and work in central Massachusetts.  In the past decade this association has worked to keep open the city’s emergency shelter system in Worcester, launched “Open Doors, End Homelessness,” an advocacy effort to push the city to draft a plan to end homelessness, held voter forums and drafted voter guides on pertinent housing issues and “Housing First” – the philosophy to end shelter and build housing, and most recently has been working with other proponents statewide to form the Restorative Justice Coalition of Massachusetts, to help green the shelters and programs of Worcester, to build the Coming Home Worcester Directory –, and to continue working with friends and allies to deliver food to people in need, and to connect homeless people to the correct resources available in central Massachusetts!
